Governors receive citizens' pledge of allegiance to crown prince

RIYADH: Citizens and officials across the Kingdom showered congratulations on Crown Prince Naif, deputy premier and interior minister, on Sunday and swore their allegiance to him.
Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal congratulated Prince Naif on his appointment in three supreme positions, including crown prince, deputy premier and interior minister, on behalf of himself and the people of Makkah province and prayed for his success in his service to Islam, the Kingdom and its people, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Zainal Alireza said Prince Naif is a role model in combating terror while congratulating the prince.
“Prince Naif is singular in his wisdom, determination and vision while his success in handling tough issues especially uprooting terror is unparalleled,” Alireza said.
The minister added that Prince Naif has also been keen on ensuring food security in the Kingdom. “The prince had a lead role in ensuring food security when the government decided to intensify monitoring and cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Interior to stabilize prices of essential commodities in the market,” he said.
Spokesman of the Presidency of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Abdul Mohsen Al-Qafari said in a statement: “Prince Naif has been playing a commendable role in maintaining the cultural and ideological identity of the Saudi people besides keeping them safely away from the threats of extremism.”
Head of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice’s branch in Al-Kharj Saud Al-Othman also pledged his allegiance to the crown prince.
“We declare our allegiance to the crown prince and that we will hear and obey him in favorable and difficult times and we will not dispute the authority of the rightful rulers.”
Najran Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah received the pledge of allegiance from the citizens on behalf of the crown prince.
On behalf of the crown prince, Eastern Province Gov. Muhammad bin Fahd received pledges of allegiance from the citizens at the governor’s headquarters in Dammam.
Madinah Gov. Prince Abdul Aziz bin Majed congratulated the crown prince on his new appointments.
Asir Gov. Prince Faisal bin Khaled received citizens who came to pledge allegiance to the crown prince in Abha.
Qassim Gov. Faisal bin Bandar received citizens who came to pledge allegiance in Qassim.
