Mother murder arrest after girl, four, dies in Moss Side

Garthorne Close The house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac
A mother has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of her four-year-old daughter in Manchester.
Police were called after Chantelle Blake, 31, walked into Manchester Royal Infirmary on Thursday evening, concerned about her child Kaiya.
Officers went to the terraced home on Garthorne Close, Moss Side, just after 19:15 BST and found the child's body.
The entrance to the cul-de-sac where the two-storey house is situated has been cordoned off.
Forensic tests have also been carried out and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.
'Lovely little girl' A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said the force was contacted by hospital after a woman "expressed concerns" about the welfare of a four-year-old girl.
Inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding her death are ongoing.
Police said they had had previous contact with the family and were conducting a review with other agencies into how the case had been handled.
Ch Supt Stuart Barton said: "Our thoughts are with the girl's family at this extremely difficult time.
"We know there is lots of speculation about the identity of the young girl and the cause of death but I want to stress that as yet, we have not formally identified her and we are doing a lot of work to try and trace all her family members to inform them."
"However, what I can say is that at this time, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident and I want to try and reassure our community that there is no reason for them to be unduly alarmed, although clearly they will be upset at this tragedy," he added.
"GMP, along with our partner agencies, is also aware of previous contact between ourselves and other agencies with the girl's family, and we will be conducting a multi-agency review."
Neighbour Pauline Taylor, who lives in Garthorne Close, said: "The little girl used to play out with the crowd round this side.
"She was always on her bike, playing out with the other kids.
"She was a lovely little girl."
Anyone with information is being urged to call police.
